BUSINESS CHALLENGE

The American Cancer Society – Tulsa needed a large venue for their annual Cattle Baron’s Ball. They decided to host the event in an airplane hangar, but it lacked conditioned air. They asked Oklahoma Chiller for a solution to install temporary cooling and power for comfort and humidity control.
They were working within a time constraint and needed something that could be installed and removed in short window of time. The committee also requested the system to be as minimally invasive to the building as possible.

Solution

Our team designed a rental solution that addressed the specific issues they were facing. This included providing adequate cooling and power to the hangar, and keeping humidity at a minimum, using:
  • Two DX package unit at 25 & 30 tons-One 50-ton chiller
  • Two 175 kw generators
  • Lay flat Duct
Our rental solution install took one day, adhering to their timeline. We removed all the installed equipment in half a day, making the hangar once again fully operational the day after the event.
“We want to give a huge thanks to Oklahoma Chiller for getting this set up for everyone, they did a fantastic job!”

Honorable Mention at the Ball

Results

Performance analysis reported:
  • Initial temperature in the hangar was 97° after cooling equipment was installed it was brought down to 74°
  • Humidity initially was 73% at 97°; we brought it to 56% at 74°
